Women in Art 2017

​June 27th to July 9th Burgh House, Hampstead

Ecclestone Art Agency in association with Burgh House, The Holly Bush, Hampstead and Cass Art will host ‘Women in Art’: a celebration and support project for women artists.

This project will host two exhibitions of work by women artists. Women in Art (1) will draw on the work of a group of successful female artists to celebrate their success and demonstrate to other female artists that being a woman and having a successful career in the art world are not mutually exclusive concepts. Women in Art (2) will be an exhibition of emerging female artists from a competition opening in May 2017.

Women in Art (1) 28th June to 2nd July in the Peggy Jay Gallery, Burgh House

An exhibition of the work of established female painters Sarah Spencer RAS NEAC, Laura Quinn Harris, Melissa Scott Miller RP NEAC, Isobel Peachey, Teri Anne Scoble, Leslie Watts and Jess de Zilva.

Works exhibited will be available to purchase, further details to follow.

Women in Art (2) 5th to 9th July

The second exhibition will show work by emerging female artists who have been selected from a ‘call to artists’. details available here

On Friday 30 June, a workshop will take place at Burgh House aimed at helping emerging artists further their careers. This event will be a series of talks followed by a networking event sponsored by The Holly Bush, Hampstead. A carefully selected group of speakers will be giving advice on such topics as using social media, pricing work, entering competitions, seeking bursaries, the function of galleries and support groups, in addition to the legal issues artists face such as copyright.
