3rd – 10th June 2017
For centuries artists have drawn inspiration from the Tuscan landscape, and the idyllic setting of the Posara Watermill offers participants a wonderful studio space, expert tuition and superb full board accommodation in the heart of Tuscany to develop work in this fine tradition.
Participants and non-painting partners can explore nearby landscape locations of hillside olive groves and mountain views, with excursions to medieval walled cities such as Fivizzano and the castles and village of Verrucola, as well as an excursion to Lucca or the fishing villages of the Cinque Terre.
The course takes its inspiration and subject matter from the surrounding landscape, and offers the opportunity to draw and paint directly on location. The course also encompasses practical tuition within the art studio on techniques and approaches such as glazing specific to the practice of oil and acrylic painting.
The course is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters.
