Working Backwards: progress of a painting

The painting ‘End of the Day Trees’ in the New English exhibition at the Mall Galleries until June 26th came into being from initial sketches made earlier this year in Suffolk.

Very cheering news on a dismal rainy windy day here in Whitstable! I’m delighted to have been been invited to lead a painting and drawing course at The Watermill in Posara, Tuscany, in September 2016.

Seascape progress…

Back from the Hebrides before storm Abigail arrived and commissioned seascapes are nearly done. Very grateful to continued patience of those waiting and watching the paint dry so slowly on their works. These were begun in June, and progress has been… er… not quick.

London Art Fair October 2015

It was a great week for those of us represented on the Russell Gallery’s stand at Battersea’s Art Fair last month, and there was a fantastic crowd as usual: a mixture of established connoisseurs and novice collectors amongst the thousands visiting throughout the week. Back to a much emptier studio now to resume work on commissions pending…
